If your driveway has a dropped kerb entrancethen it's illegal to park in front of it - I think this has been in force for about 3 or so years.

Where my mate lives the police "advise" the offender and usually there's no more bother.

Could be an avenue to explore?

It's a traffic offence to block someone inside their property, but not to block them out. Photographic or video evidence might get them a warning from the PCSO.

There again, it's hardly a Sherlock task to work out where they will be, especially when it's the same few cars! Make a point of going out at the 'best' time to inconvenience them.

Unfortunately some parents collecting children seem to lose all reason and responsibility during that small part of the day. Despite constant nagging, plenty of other space and even a police presence from time to time, dangerous yellow line parking outside our kids' school was guaranteed.

If a 1400 pupil comp can't entirely solve it.....

    Somewhat longer.

My wife's only ticket was for doing just that in an unlit lane. She was 18.

    Now she's 56.:)

Childminders have to be reistered with the local authorities and do get inspected by OFSTED.
Might be worth enquiring with your LA to see if they have registered.

Also, most LAs have a nuiscence neighbour team, so speak to them.

Glad I don't live next door to the OP. Your neighbour is trying to make a living, and it sounds like the hardship you're experiencing is seriously minor.

All this talk of investigating tax, hmrc, council etc is tripe. Stop being a pest and just ignore it. They could be a nightmare neighbour but they're not. They're just providing a valuable service to working families. And trust me, a good childminder makes a huge difference to a parents life.

if you own the house and you sell, you have to declare any neighbour disputes officially reported

Maybe leave flyers on the cars to remind them and mention you have taken photographic evidence as evidence

Nice. Passive aggressive approach. What do you suggest they do with this 'evidence'?

Had a similar thing in my parents strret, where people picking their kid up from shcool would park in front of the driveway, blocking them in.
They had an emergency one day and abslutely had to get out of the house to go to the hospital, driveway was blocked. Luckily the woman had left her door open so he opened the door, let off the handbrake and rolled it down the hill.It hit a wall, which was nice - and she never parked there again....
Until you live somewhere where inconsiderate people park outside and block you in you probably will take the attitude, poor parents, they are only picking up their child, and childminding is very important to them.
Otherwise, you're just thinking, what a bunch of selfish @rseholes, with no consideration for anyone else, who appear to be physically incapable of parking somewhere a bit further away because their legs don't work and five minutes out of their busy lives is more important.

I'd be regualrly letting down their tires, or putting nails under them. Anti social much me? Damn right. Probably as a result of being on the end of the inconsiderate stick for too long.

Do you know who wrote the convenant and why? Might be worth doing some digging on that as well as contacting the council to find out if the childminder is registered.

I meant to say, one other thing you could do - you could try putting bollards on your drive.

Which certainly wouldnt be relevant by that time - because OP would be able to report "...and it was successfully resolved".

Some of us have had a sight worse than this and gulped at the thought of what we'd have to say when we came to sell our houses - but gone ahead dealing with the situation anyway and it was successfully over comfortably before putting our houses on the market and "past history"/subject didnt even come up.
