green deal-feeder tariffs
Hello,
Can somebody please help me? In august 2015 I had 10 solar panels fitted along with an energy efficient combi boiler fitted (Baxi Duo Tec). This was part of the government backed green deal. I was informed that I would benefit from cheaper daytime electricity and would receive 4 quarterly payments from my electricity supplier a year- (Scottish & southern). I had a few issues with the installation company, so my FIT application to SSE didn’t get sent until late April 2016. I was informed shortly after this by my supplier that I had missed the deadline for the FIT process and would not be eligible for the payments. At no time was I informed that a deadline existed for the application to be received by my supplier. I was informed that this was not something my supplier could sanction due to the fact that OFGEN had withdrawn the eligibility to the scheme in April 2016. I am now faced with a contract spanning 22 years paying for a mis sold product, that is costing me an extra £94 on top of my existing electricity bill. Another issue I have is the fact that I had to replace an existing Baxi combi boiler which was only installed a year previously. (Baxi eco). I would appreciate where I stand legally with this contract, as I feel I have been mis-sold a product which does not meet the terms with which were outlined at the outset.
Surely this is a breach of contract. I am sure if this was a house mortgage, then the terms and conditions would have been breached.
Hope somebody can advise me. Email provided.
Paul.

I am afraid you have missed the FiT claim deadline. From the Energy Savings Trust website:
MCS transitional installation deadlines
Transitional MCS installations are applications where an application to the scheme was made after 15 January 2016 but the system’s MCS certificate issue date and commissioning date was before 15 January 2016.
In these instances, applications had to be made to the chosen FIT Licensee by 31 March 2016 at the latest. This applied to all MCS technologies under the scheme.
It is not clear when Ofgem issued this change to the FiT claiming regulations but I suspect that it was post your installation so the installer may not have been aware of this change when your panels were installed.
I am not sure how you can claim the solar panels were mis-sold? Registration for FITs is a homeowner responsibility.
As far as your boiler is concerned you do not say why the boiler had to be replaced?
I suggest than rather than looking for answers on this forum, you might be better taking all the associated paperwork to your local CItizens Advice centre. Your situation seems to be very complex and best dealt with face to face imho. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
