Gas National Database
Help, I have been trying to switch gas suppliers but failed miserably because our large old farmhouse has been classed as industrial because we use a lot of gas.
I was told to call Xoserve who were responsible for the National Database however finding this on their web site is harder than looking for a needle in a haystack!
I tried a couple of numbers on their web site but just ended up in ever decreasing circles!!
So anyone out there had the same problem or can give me a number to call to question the logic of why we are classified as industrial!!
Many thanks.

As far as I am aware it is your suppliers responsibility to get Xoserve updated.Make £10 per day-
June: £100/£3000 -
The number for Xoserve/Transco/National Grid Gas is 0870 608 1524. If you use more than 73,200 kWhs per year you will be classed as commercial use and be subject to commercial tariffs and corresponding VAT at 20%. A typical 3 bed house will use around 23,000 kWhs for gas, even less if it is well insulated. I would recommend taking regular monthly reads and passing them across to your supplier. Xoserve's database is currently updated once a year every October. This can be challenged via your supplier if you have proof of recorded dated reads - Take Pictures.0

Be careful how long you spend on the line. The 0870 number is premium rate and costs up to 68p per minute.
Calling from a landline will be around 35p to 45p per minute cheaper than calling from a mobile.
Have a look at SAY NO to 0870 to find an alternative number. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
