M&S Cut deal after opening account

I applied for an M&S bank account 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't been opened.

I've noticed they've now cut the reward for switchers from £100 to £50.

If this had been the case when I applied I wouldn't have bothered...

Should I make a formal complaint to them?

Only complain if they don't give you the £100 gift card.

When I switched last year the 6% regular saver had dropped to 5% by the time the account was opened but they opened my regular saver at 6% as that was the rate at the time of application.

Give them a call and ask if you're getting the £100 gift card.

I don't see anything to *complain* about as they are free to change their offers at any time.

    2. You will qualify for the switching offer described in

This means that if you applied before the 5th, the old T&C apply (pun intended).

    I had the same experience.

A phone call sorted it out when I was in a similar position.
  • I applied for it in early December and have only just got the card. The staff member confirmed to me that it is when you first apply rather than when the account is actually opened. So I'm hoping for the £100 + £10pcm...

My switch to m&s completed yesterday, will let you know what I get in the post. FWIW, the switch paperwork confirms the £100+120, so I'm not concerned.

In addition to the other posts, M&S have been swamped with switchers and are advising that it is going to take longer than usual to switch to them.
