Here's my next problem graffiti!

I need to sell my house this year and it's going to be extremely stressful for me as I'm very unwell but can no long live here due to financial pressure. Anyway my front wall which I own has got graffiti the on it. It's been there for about three years. There was someone going round our town putting a heart and then a u. Well he did it on my front brick wall. I rang the council and police. The council wouldn't come and get rid of it for me because it's a private wall and told me not to try and remove it straight away because whoever it was just came back and did it again. My neighbours said they would do it for me if I got the stuff needed which I did, they kept saying they would sort it but they never did. Then my daughter got seriously ill and it went to the bottom of my list. Last year I got a cleaning company to try and get it off the wall which they did initially but it's come back up again I guess it's soaked right into the wall. Now I'm stuck no none seems to be able to get rid of it but I need to sell the house for a decent price but who will buy it looking like that?? Does anyone have any brilliant ideas?

Would painting the wall look odd? (Without seeing the wall I can't tell, but I'm sure you can).
If not, get someone to paint it with masonry paint - whatever colour you think appropriate.
What did the cleaning company use on it?0 -
Im not convinced a bit of paint thinner wouldn't do the job, spray paint is fairly easy to remove0

Surely the easiest solution is to paint the wall.
If you still want it to look "brick", then use a brick-coloured paint.0 -
Surely paint stripper / thinners etc allowed to soak then maybe a solution of soapy water and a Jet washer should do it.
Painting the wall seems the obvious one, it can encourage artists back though !0 -
I have had someone out to try and get rid of it,he used this chemical stuff which they let soak into the wall then used a wire brush and a jet washer on it. It came back up again
the trouble with painting it is it is part of a very long wall that belongs to the next three houses so it will look weird if I paint just my bit and I couldn't afford to get theirs painted as well. 0 -
The council wouldn't come and get rid of it for me because it's a private wall
Our council removes graffiti from privately owned property if it is "visible and accessible from the highway".
Would another application of chemical do the job?0 -
I don't think some old and faded graffiti on a garden wall would really deter potential buyers too much, especially if the house is in an urban area.
As for your concerns about putting your house on the market being potentially ''extremely stressful'' ...Try not to worry too much, as long as you put it on for a sensible and realistic asking price you will almost certainly find it sells very quickly and easily in the current market, the more unrealistic you choose to be with your asking price the more stress and hassle you will probably inflict on yourself in what will become a long and drawn out process.0 -
It's not likely to "come back up again" maybe more visible when the cleaning fluids dried.
Can we see a picture?0 -
How big is the area covered by the graffiti?
....
How large is a "for sale" sign from your favoured estate agent?0 -
I'm not sure why it would matter if your wall looks different to your neighbours wall?
I would just assume that you've got different tastes to the neighbours and think nothing of it.0
