Barclaycard soft search 'cannot find information' - tho agencies can?

Hi
I'm new to the forums and have tried to search for this issue but can't find it - sorry if it's a repeat question!
After finally getting into stable employment and paying off a huge whack of my CC debt with a PPI payment, I find my credit 'score' (yeah, I know) has hugely improved (no missed payments for 20 months, credit utilisation down to 35%, on electroal roll, etc). What CC debt I have I'm looking to move to a 0% card.
Soft searches carried out on Clearscore, MSE, etc come up no problem, and MSE recommend I'm 70% eligible for some very attractive Barclaycard offers.
However, on nipping over to Barclaycard to do a similar check, I'm told they cannot find my information.
Similarly, when heading over to HSBC, I'm told they 'need more information' and can't complete the check.
I am aware that lenders use / need more information than is given by reference agencies, and that soft searches are a gentle frisk rather than a full pat-down (as it were). While I am now working full time, this has only been the case since September; will this be showing on the file and causing them pause?
Has anyone else had this issue, or any idea why there's a discrepancy here? I am obviously loath to do a full application unless it's a last resort.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies guys.
I can find myself on Experian and Equifax, as wel as MSE Credit Club, Clearscore and Noddle, so I think that's all bases covered0
