I purchased a bed from a company called bedshed.com, about 6 months after using the bed, the slats in the frame broke on one side, just from sitting on it. I called the company bensons 4 beds (who bought out bedshed) and they sent someone to fix the bed. A few days later, the same thing happened. Clearly this was a manufacturing fault. I phoned bensons asking for a replacement bed, they replied they no longer sell the bed, but they could offer me a credit to buy a new bed. The problem is, I do not like any of the beds sold on the bensons website, therefore I have asked the company for a refund. They have refused this. They say my only option is to get another bed.
Do I have any rights under s75 in order to get my money back given that it is unreasonable to expect me to buy a bed that I do not even like?

Timing is important, you say about 6 months, well you need to be more precise.
You have more rights if it's under 6 months as the fault is said to be inherent at time of purchase. After 6 months you need to prove this so that means getting a specialist independent report done.
A company doesn't actually have to do anything over 6 months as you need to prove your case so the warranty is what they say it is.
A warranty is over and above your consumer rights so if you want to enforce them then you need to do the donkey work.
It certainly won't harm your case by getting the CC involved, give them a call and tell them you want to start a S75 claim and take it from there.0
