Travel passes are a good idea and good value.
But watch the water taxi operators as you get off the Ryanair bus from Treviso.
The operation is very smooth - the "helpful" guides wait for the Ryanair bus passangers as they step off the bus and kindly lead them to the rip-off water taxis. There are police officers around who do nothing to stop it...I guess they aren't doing anything illegal.
The water buses are at the opposite end of the bus station - a very short walk.
Unfortunately, we were caught out, the trip to St Mark's square was more than a three day bus travel pass. It ruined my first impressions of this wonderful city.0
