Surely it depends on the circumstances. We have one and we also use someone else's. Living in the sticks, there are huge benefits nowadays in not being on a public road.

Ours is 60' from our house and of no great interest to us anyway.

Of course. Most of the problems arise where the ROW is across a back garden or in other close proximity to the houses.
  • Thanks for all the advice. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I've looked into the deeds as suggested and he has a right of access for himself, vehicles, staff and livestock.

We have a letter from our solicitors stating we can park on the drive, as per the previous agreement with the people that owned the house before we did, providing we move when asked and no structure blocks it indefinitely.

I like the idea of heavy plant pots put in awkward places, although knowing my neighbour and the style of vehicles he drives up there (flatbeds and large transit vans) he would probably mow them over, but definitely worth a try! And the kids would probably love some speed humps up and down the drive.

Again, thanks for all the advice, it has been super helpful :)
