The resorts are all different. It depends what you're looking for in a holiday. I'd suggest you do some research and narrow it down to a resort, and then ask about accommodation.0 -

Is there a reason it has to be Lanza?
Perhaps with children of that age Tenerife (perhaps Costa Adeje) would be better in terms of things to do. Lanza is pretty quiet.0 -

I wouldn't say Lanza was quiet. It's ideal for families with younger kids. There's plenty to do for all ages really, but all the hotels/resorts differ with what they offer. Obviously some hotels are better for younger kids than others.0 -
Fancied somewhere different, we like Majorca a lot.
Other options are Southern Mainland Spain0 -
If you're used to the level of entertainment in Majorca lanza will seem really quiet. Apart from the volcano and a small zoo come water park, I think you'll struggle to entertain two kids.Fancied somewhere different, we like Majorca a lot.

Maybe have a look and see if what the island offers is your family's cup of tea? https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g187477-Activities-Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html has all the main ones on, but its a lot of wineries and museums, not something I would recommend for the average family with young-ish children. I guess any place is what you make it, but they will likely be bored. Heck I was bored and I'm an adult, but each to their own (didn't like trudging up hills in 31 degree weather, nor having to put up with the typically german holidaymakers).0 -

Such as what exactly? Teguise is desperately quiet, and PDC is all hills which in 31 degrees isn't as fun it may sound, especially with two small children. Most people don't want to stay in a hotel for entertainment, and if, as the OP suggested they are used to Majorca, this will be a very abrupt shock to the system.0 -

I have never been and someone in work was going with their kids this Summer. I am open to suggestions to be honest. Just don't fancy Turkey and have done Crete a few times.0 -
We did lanzarote in July with our 9 year old and there was loads to do!
We stayed just outside Puerto del carmen in matagorda and found it really flat for the most part! The beach was great for kids, lots of bars and restaurants too many with live music.
We stayed at The morromar apartments. 15min's from the airport, 5-10 min walk to beach and restaurants etc. Bus stop 5 min's away to go to pdc or €6 in a taxi. Lots of other children and two big pools so our daughter spent most of her time playing in the pool with new friends. Entertainment was OK, nothing to write home about but she was happy enough and we went out some nights too. Very reasonably priced and a good sized apartment.
Puerto del carmen had a big inflatable assault course in the sea which was great fun and only €6 each I think for an hour. We hired one of those family bike/buggy things one afternoon for €12 an hour which was fun.
We loved the volcano trip too and went to the market. We didn't do rancho texas or the waterpark but it was an option. Loads of boat trips on offer too and bus service is good to see other resorts. Worth a walk to airport if you stay in matagorda too as the planes come right over your head which is fun for kids. I'd certainly recommend it.Lea

Personally, I wouldn't go to the Canaries in the summer, as the weather in the Mediterranean resorts can often be better. Love Tenerife in the winter months, but it's the Balearics all the way in the summer.0
