Clever technical person?

I recently downloaded an app called File Commander on my Sony xperia Z3 and when I tried to access my sms messages, they have all disappeared. I trawled the internet and not had any luck.
I've called my network to see if they can help. They suggested putting the phone into safe mode to see if the messages are there. They are not. I've deleted the app, that hasn't worked.

My phone is saying that there are 23MB of messages on my phone, but my SMS inbox is empty.

Help!

Comments

  • Go to message settings check if archive is on
  • I have not used File Commander but wonder if it has renamed and/or moved your SMS files. Can you connect your phone to your PC and search that way?

File commander doesn't touch SMS messages. I bet your phone is short on memory (RAM that is, not storage) causing the problem. Try uninstalling a few apps and restarting the phone. Alternatively you could try running an app cache cleaning app to clear all the cashes down. Longer term you'll need to find out which app is hogging all the memory and sort that out.

Also I'd suggest downloading an app like system pannel so you can check how much memory is being used - if it's very high, near 100 percent that might confirm the problem.

Try CCleaner - to increase your available RAM
It is in the play store.
