Hi all could do with some advise..

We Were going to visit the local Mercedes dealership on these roads to see about th next Motability car. Now We saw these signs which were on every single lamp post, obviously but you can't really read all txt and drive at the same time as you really need to stop to read them fully but doing so would put you in contravention of the rules! Anyway We had no intention to stop just to be sure but ironically a medical issue occurred which needed us to stop, obviously for safety reasons. Unfortantly for us and another reason why this is mad, We had to stop and right in front of us was the video car recording us stopping, We knew it was there but this was the common sense thing to do! Of course We have now received a PNC from VCS Ltd. for stopping. Our car is a Motability car and blue badge holder.

We have tried to digest the sticky thread on what We should or shouldn't do but struggling to get my head round what We must do and to what organisation..

We would be exceptionally grateful if someone could assist us through the jargon.

Do I appeal within the 14 days as they request giving me my details? From reading the many pages it would appear the incorrect thing to do in this case?

First, amend your post to remove information about who did what. Only refer to The Driver and The Keeper who are two separate people as far as this is concerned. Parking scammers read these fora.
Then appeal using the relevant template from the NEWBIES thread. You could add (without revealing who was driving) the relevant part of the ATA CoP concerning Grace Periods which the parking scammers didn't follow.

This assumes that you do not live in Scotland or NI.

If VCS are Vehicle Control Solutions, then send the BPA template in blue from the NEWBIES thread.

If it is Vehicle Control Services then send the IPC template in black fro the NEWBIES thread.

The blue badge scheme does not apply on private land, but the Equality Act 2010 does, which may come in to play later.

The 14 days you mention is irrelevant. You send the appeal within the appeal deadline which will be 28 days for BPA members or, 21 or 28 days for IPC members.

    Don't miss it.

Most parking acronyms are explained in the NEWBIES thread.

  • They are vehicle control services ltd according to the letter. Is this the same company as Vehicle Control Solutions? Seems a coincidence in naming?

They are not the same company which is why I said you need to use one appeal template for one company that belongs to one ATA, and the other template if they belong to the other ATA.

ATA = Acredited Trade Association, sometimes referred to as AOS, Approved Operator Scheme. They have to be a member of one scheme or the other in order to a have access to registered keeper details from the DVLA.

Still some more editing of your initial post needed. The Driver's leg, and the Keeper's head for egg sample.
