Revolut Card Advice

I used one last year for holiday to Majorca, and had no problems. Trouble is, my memory has failed me and I am unsure on a few things.
Is it better to preload by transferring Pounds to Euros to have a balance on the card before we go? I will be using for both cash machine withdrawals and paying for meals out on the card. I seem to remember you can have a zero balance on the card and it comes direct from your bank account, similar to Paypal. Is that correct?
I am going to Spain again next week and will probably take some Euros in cash, and Post Office credit card just in case.
Thanks for any advice.

I haven't used mine yet, but when I set it up I recall having to pre-load a balance before using. You can do this via a smartphone app so you will be able to do this and and when you need to whilst you're abroad.0

Thanks. I have just checked my balance and I have £85 and 1.06 Euro. Last year I seem to remember paying a bill in a restaurant in Euros and it came directly out of my bank account, tho I could be wrong.
Edit - checked bank account and no transactions out, so I think I loaded GBP onto the card and did not exchange until I paid restaurant bill. Unsure if this is the best way?0 -
You can change some or all of those pounds, and any more you load, into euros at any time on the Revolut app. You can also leave them as pounds, and if you make a purchase of more than €1.06 (in your case at present) it will convert pounds to euros at that moment to cover it. Money will never be taken directly from your bank account without your actively loading your Revolut card balance.I have just checked my balance and I have £85 and 1.06 Euro.
You should probably take a good look at the FAQs and the Fair Usage Policy, all available via the app or online.Evolution, not revolution0
