When do they get narked

If you don't use a credit card for a few months/years how soon do they get narked and cancel your agreement or lower credit limits?
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

    Varies enormously.

But they won't get narked. Just view you as an opportunity to cut costs and reduce exposure.

I've got a couple of credit cards that haven't been used for four years,

The CC providers haven't cancelled them.

My MBNA with a £7.5K limit has hardly been use for the 6 years shown on my credit report, the odd £5 every 3 months or so, 13 statement balances for Dec 2010 - Jun 2015 period then started using it again for a year and have now stopped again.

I think my Barclaycard may have originally been either a Sky Credit Card or perhaps an Amazon Credit Card (or perhaps a card that had an Amazon promotion attached). Whichever it was, I haven't spent on it since early 2009 at the latest. It's only got a £1000 credit limit and I intend to close it this week

M&S threatened to close my CC account after 12 months of non use. I made a £5 purchase on it and reset the clock.

That all sounds a rather tame and understated response - I'd have expected you to have angrily dispatched a firing squad to the CEO's house while you kicked off a massive name and shame guerrilla publicity campaign on social media and insisted on questions being raised in Parliament. Or at least cut the card up and sent it back to them with graphic advice about where they might insert the shards....
