Economy 7 meter, how can i get rid

i had anE7 meter and only used about 5% electricity on night rate.
My supplier is FU and I emailed them and asked for a normal single rate meter.
The replacement meter was fitted for free within a month of sending that email, and for free too.
Was offered a smart meter but declined this as the model offered would have reverted to a dumb one if/when I switch.
You can only ask them, try phoning and/or email or use the Contact Us section of your online account with them.0 -
It's usually just a case of requesting that the meter gets changed for a single rate one and setting up the appropriate tariff. That's what my Mum did and what we did when we moved in.
I'm not sure whay you seem to have a problem.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

we moved into a new house around 12 months ago and have been on the first utility fixed tariff. They have now switched us to an economy 7 tariff
I dont want to be on one of these as we use no electricity at night. I want off, however when using comparison sites, they all only give me values for economy 7.
How can i get rid of this thing, i feel like im at ransom to this stupid tarrif and extortionate day rates.
so they've switched your tariff, but you still have the same meter?
For economy 7 you need a two rate meter, so how were you billed before on the first utility fixed tariff?0 -
As above. Unless the meter has been changed, how did you get a single rate tariff for the first 12m? The supplier does not arbitrarily switch you over to E7. If you have an E7 meter, they will know, because the serial number will be recorded as such, and you will automatically be put on E7. The tariff is the same one, but the billing will be on night and day rates rather than on single rate.
But a comp site has no idea what metering you have-you simply put in your postcode, annual usage, and answer yes or no when it asks you if you have E7. So I have to question why you think the comp site will only show you E7?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
