Nationwide Switching Direct Debits

Hi All,
I am in the process of switching accounts to Nationwide and I have two direct debits registered on my account. My question is as one was only setup and no money has been paid through it yet does it still qualify or do I need to wait for a payment to be made?
Thanks in advance

I'd wait personally (having read of others' experiences on here when they didn't!). If you're worried about the incentive being pulled/reduced, don't be...once you've been referred you have 90 days to complete the switch (by which time the DDs should have pulled?).0

The new bank won't know if the DD has been used, the new bank will receive details of the organisations you hold a DD with and send a notice through ADDACS to those organisations asking them to change the direct debit to your new bank.
They'll see they've setup x amount of DD's for you and that should do.0 -

That's interesting, I thought a DD actually had to come out of an account for it to be deemed valid?0
