Hi
Am a newbie here, i have a question which i am really after reasurance that i have my facts correct, we have a joint account with Abbey and a joint account with icici, are these 2 banks connected in any way that the FSCS
could refuse to pay out the current protection amounts. for the full amounts in the unlikely event that both banks were introuble.
hope that makes sense.!!
thanks in advance.

No connection between the two and you are each covered, so thats up to around £70k between you in the two accounts.Change is here to stay0

so i could protect £140k with the FSCS by splitting it, would i be better to have a third account and spread it by 3, what does others prefer to do.0

Nothing. I am not at all paranoid about the security of our retail banks so wouldnt split it up for that reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
