Car Insurance for medical conditions (and SORN).

I've just found our from my Insurance company that because I've had to surrender my licence due to a medical condition and SORN the car they won't cover it and are cancelling my policy?! That's just so unfair. I've tried other Insurance companies and no-one will cover my car as I've not got a licence and its SORN. I really can't have it uninsured as it worth a lot to me. HELP PLEASE. What can I do to get my car Insured?

Simon, seems reasonable that no insurer would want to cover the road risk for your vehicle as you can't drive it unless it has other drivers?
Assume you're looking for Fire and Theft cover only? Is it a Classic Car? I'm sure you could find cover with a specialist assuming you have the vehicle safely stowed away somewhere. Probably best togoogle it

Try googling laid up car insurance.
  • Thanks for the reply. I do understand them not wanting to cover me on the road but to not cover my car at all is wrong in my opinion. They seem to be washing their hands of me. It's not a classic car, its a 2010 Nissan Quashqai, I've just googled Fire and Theft Insurance and only 2 companies came up. I have just called Adrian Flux and they can't do it as its kept on a drive. I've just done a quote with Sorn Insurance (Bradsure - never heard of them) and they have quoted me £122 for a year with a Insurance company called China Tieping. Sorry to be a pain but have you heard of any of these companies as I don't want to get scammed.

Can you actually give it to whoever you trust most on condition that they drive you where necessary and let them insure it
