Last minute holidays for 10th Feb

Hi all,

I thought I would ask the hive mind if they would recommend any travle agents who specialise in last minute holidays.

I have up to 10 or 11 days max on 10th February and was looking for somewhere warmer. I originally thought about Costa del sol, Tenerife or turkey and I may still do so but there are some interesting options shown on the sites recommended in the MSE guide to cheap holidays ( eg Miami, Thailand and Costa Verde)

The trouble is I am a single traveller and nost of these dont have single supplement option .

Also I was generally wondering if the traditional phone agents can offer an alternative and indeed if I should just check a couple of days before my break and see what's available.

Opinions appreciated.

Ta.

Paul

There are air fare sales to Thailand at the moment, you could just book a flight.

Do a search of these forums, there's lots of great info about where to stay at great prices. Also great info about Vietnam.

You might find good air fares to Goa.

Paul, you obviously don't have school age children as the 10 days you are considering includes the school half term and that will reduce availability on short haul holidays to Europe. Turkey, apart from Istanbul. is effectively closed in winter as a destination, and the snow pictures of the last few days confirm that is not somewhere to go in winter.

If you want warmth then the only guarantees are the Canary Islands for short haul or further afield the UAE which is always expensive at half term or long distance Florida and the Far East. If you book your flights independently and look for rooms on hotels.com (other booking sites are available) you may find somewhere but school holidays and cheap holidays do not always mix. Don't leave it to the last minute, you may not get anything at all

    B*m,

School holidays. I don't have young kids so I didn't realise. I usually check . The dates coincide with my rota long weekends at the start and end of that week . I was just trying to maximise my break without using up loads of holiday entitlement.

My son and I are also trapped into this as we are visiting Las Vegas for his 21st and it coincides with easter. I don't know if I am to blame for that or is the church? :rotfl:

I probably shouldn't leave it to last minute now that I know.

If you can return on a non peak travel date then you should be ok avoiding the school holiday peaks.

    The half term holiday is

    Spring Half-Term Dates Saturday 11 February 2017 Sunday 19 February 2017

Do you have to be at work Mon 20th Feb?

If you can fly on the 10th and land on the 21st, this should avoid the main peak half term flights.
