OEIC as an investment for children

Is an OEIC a good way to invest for children aged 11 and 14, or is there something better available? I'm looking for something that will tie the money up and prevent access for ten years or so.

OEIC is a perfectly good and very popular method. Has been for decades (UT/OEIC).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
