Working tax credit

Thanks.
I mean the amount of WTC you receive varies depending on how many hours you work eg. If I worked 16 hours, I would get more than if I worked 24 hours. So if I notified tax credits of how many hours I had worked for each of the previous 4 weeks and it was a different amount of hours each week, I would get a different amount of WTC for each week. Is that correct?
No as it's calculated on your income for the full tax year, not how much you earn each week.0 -

Ah right. But how will I or they know how much I will have earned by the end pf the tax year especially if my hours will vary each week? They can't go by the previous tax year if I haven't been working.0 -
You provide an estimate during the year. At the end of the year you then confirm your actual figures on your renewal.0

Thank you. So if the estimation is wrong at the end of the year, will I either have to pay back the extra WTC I received or will they pay me if I didn't receive enough?0
