First trip to Euro Disney Easter weekend.

Dh and I are going with our 7yr old Niece 14th-17th April on a very tight budget.
We've provisionally booked a self catering apartment for £255 for 3 nights
Seen Tickets for 2 day 2 Parcs £106 each for dh and I and £95 for our Niece
And planning on getting the ferry to Calais and driving down to Paris for £100

So £662 plus diesel, bus and food so far.

We'll travel on the Fri and Mon and spend sat and Sunday at the parks.
The apartment is 10mins from the entrance and a bus is 2€ per person

Just trying to sort out spending money. Planning on having breakfast and dinner at the apartment and taking food with us during the day.

I just wanted to ask if rides and the parades are free of charge. And are there any unexpected charges we should expect?

Tolls on the motorway in France between €16-20 depending on route. Rides parades etc. included in the ticket price so just food and drinks really, not cheap in the parks but supermarket prices similar to here. There's a McDonalds in the Disney village again similar prices to here but seem to have a better range of food salads etc.

Have you looked at a night in a Disney hotel? That would include entrance for 2 days but might be silly money at Easter.

You can stay onsite in a hotel for £800 for 4 nights on those dates including 4 days of park tickets, if she's under 7, might be more if she's not.
  • To your original question - parades and rides are free - extras are thing like having photo taken by Disney with characters and spending in shops.

Comments about food all valid. You can't take bags on all the rides so may need to use locker (not sure of charge).

Remember parades are in evening too usually so waiting till after to eat maybe a long day ... check timing on Disney site. Also work out what rides they can go on ...
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.

you can take most bags on most rides at DLP, so as long as your bags fasten securely you'll be fine. The ones where you can't (ie in ToyStory Playland for example) there are individual bag bins in the ride areas, these are free of charge.

There is a shooting gallery in DLP which is not free to use, but I think just about everything else you have been informed about by others on this thread.
  • Yes we agree most bags are Ok but not all. OP mentioned taking lunch in so that might be too big or not. But as identified that is solvable.

Correct - well remembered - shooting gallery is payable.

Taking a refillable water bottle is a good plan as drinks are costly vs that is a free solution.

Many thanks for all your replies. I'm really happy and impressed with the price I've made the holiday so far as I had been to numerous travel agents who quote well to near £1000 for the weekend.
I think having the Friday and Monday to travel and dedicating the full 2 weekend days for Disneyland is better so we don't feel rushed.
Our niece has already been so I'm sure she will take us to all her favourite rides etc.

That's handy to know there's a maccy d's on site so that we can have something hot whilst waiting for the parades etc.

its not onsite as in inside the parks where the parades are, its in the Village area, by the time you walk to McDs, get your food, and walk back to the park and stake out a spot for the parade, your food will be cold. There are however plenty of McDs-type counter service restaurants all dotted around the parks, and kids meal deals in them are plenty big enough for most adults to fuel up on ;).

If you've a car then there is a large shopping centre at Marni-la-Vallee (Val de Europe). It's the next metro station along from Disneyland so easy to reach by train as well. Has a big supermarket downstairs so can pick up groceries there much cheaper than at the Disney village. There's also a couple of restaurants (again cheaper than at the village).

Weve provisionally booked the Residence du parc val d' Europe which I think is near the supermarket you mean and where I was planning to go. As we will have the car I said we could take a food provision box for the apartment as well with cereals etc
