I think it's legal. Bad practice maybe but legal.
The judgement would have ordered payment 'forthwith' (immediately) on 6 Jan.
So there was a default at the time the warrant was issued (9 Jan) in that you hadn't paid 'forthwith'
I thought the compliance fee was £75 so don't understand the maths here.
(earlier you said 459.10 which would be 376.85 + 82.25)
Yes, you now pay the bailiff/court. If you pay by 6 Feb the entry still does not appear on your credit file0 -
Thank you
The figures on these letters are
Judgement
Pay claimant £279.85 for debt + interes
£97 costs
total £376.85 forthwith
Warrant of control
total to pay (including fees) £456.10
Thank you0 -

That's what I'm tending towards in the absence of the CPR stating any time-limits (that I can see). I'd agree that it is bad practice though much legal stuff is.
I was wondering about the maths as well.

Could you look at the figures posted on my last post & let me know if you think a mistake has been made?
Also should I not have been informed of a court date? Especially if I had to pay on the day?
Should any of this have come by recorded/signed for delivery? As this has all come normal post, and delayed :-(0 -

No need to send recorded delivery.
