Peugeot 207 Dash Electronics issue
My old man recently had an accident that wrote off his Civic, so despite my advice to get another Honda, as he is a Peugeot technician he bought a 2008 207 SW.
It has developed a fault where when driving along, the dash appears to lose all power, lights all go off (headlights etc stay on) and speedo/rev counter needles drop to 0.
"It's ok, he's a peugeot mechanic and bought a pug so if anything goes wrong he works at the right place to sort it." No-one where he works can diagnose the fault and they have never seen anything like this before! He has tested the earths, seems to be ok. The master technician at his work has reset the ECU, still occurring.
Has anyone experienced this? or can anyone with experience diagnose the fault?

Has he tested the cluster itself0

Last one we saw with a similar fault was on a newish Peugeot in a garage where I worked, when the main Peugeot dealer could not find the problem we ended up changing the complete wiring loom to cure it, number of electrical faults we saw on French cars put me off them for life.0

I tried convincing him to get another Honda, the civic he had he bought off me when i got a newer civic. It had done 165k miles and only had a new crankshaft sensor (aside from wear and tear parts).0 -
Google cluster failure?
Quote: A common fault with the 2006-2011 Peugeot 207 is the instrument cluster. The common fault with this unit is erratic behavior from the instrument cluster or total loss of cluster. This fault is caused by a faulty processor. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
