Eco 20:20 meter

Hi, Has anyone had this meter installed by EDF some years ago and now finding it difficult to get it changed? EDF paid for the meter to be installed but now no-one wants to pay for it to be changed back. I'm looking for a better energy deal but very few providers will support the Eco 20:20 meter. If anyone has been in a similar situation I'd love to hear how you got on.
Thanks

EDF will change the meter but may charge. I doubt any other supplier will take you on until the meter is replaced so you have little choice I am afraid.

No other suppliers will support this meter. You may well have to bite the bullet and pay EDF. If you are electric only have you done your sums to see if its competing with Eco 7 prices. Also make sure it is correctly billed with the timings of the 20/20. The meter readers have no idea of day/night at all with this meter

  • Thanks for your comments. I moved from EDF to GB Energy & have now been placed with Co-operative since they went bust. I had issues with the meter reading when I moved to GB Energy & wondered why, so your comments make sense House Martin. EDF never made me aware of the limitations of an Eco 20:20 meter when they installed it.

As you are now a Co-op customer they will have to change the meter for you.

If the Co-op return it as an "erroneous transfer " back to EDF, they will change the meter back to normal Eco 7 for free ( if you have been with them over a year ) .No other supplier can support the 10 hrs night rate 9 pm to 7 am seven days a week billing.
The meter is the same as all the other Eco 7 meters in that the suppliers only inform the original customer of the timings and rates. If you do not understand them its not the suppliers fault. Instead of 7 hrs night you get 10 hrs in a better time spot starting at 9 pm instead of 12.30 am of a standard Eco 7..

  • Hi...
I today have been told by Scottish power they support our Eco 20/20, they have said the R1 and R2 will stay as it is...but I am triple checking tommorow, as I will get the cheaper rate for those hours and they are just changing the rate I pay...had any more luck?
