Stamps - where do they get them all from?

I sold several, about 50, old books of stamps on Ebay. I still have some for my personal use. The books were bought by my late father as an investment but didn't gain anything! They had unusual phosphor bands or other strange things.0

I saw a load at a local auction house. I kid you not there must of been about £700 of stamp value. I missed the auction and they sold for £110!0

I buy mint stamps from online dealers at a large discount to the face value (easy to find if you search 'discount stamps' or whatever. It means the eBay lots I sell can be posted to cheaper and as I sell largely to stamp collectors they enjoy getting them so gets me positive feedback.
There's a vast amount of postage that has been sold to collectors by Royal Mail over the last 45 years to collectors, the problem will be when the new privatised mail decides to stop accepting the older stamps and they will become virtually worthless.0
