How should I deal with this Parking charge?
Last week received a parking charge throught the post from a company called TPS.
I have looked at the pepipoo and other websites and have gained an understanding about the legalities of this charge.
Fact is we were 10 minutes over on a miserly 1 and a half hour allowance in a very busy supermarket buying supplies for the week for our rented cottage.
however dont expect TPS to care about this.
The charge is in oh`s name as she is registered keeper/owner, however she wasnt driving and from reading the websites a contract has to be established between the "driver" and the company using signage.
Even though these companies will try to convince you the registered owner is responsible this is not true.
so I am unsure exactly what to do, some advice says dont respond as responding confirms to them the address is correct and they will hound you, or write back
ask them to identify who was driving
State registered owner was not driving(you dont have to tell them who was driving unlike for speeding fines)
Advise them not to write again as this will be harassment and reportable to police/against code of conduct etc (according to websites this is true and their is a template to follow)
what do you think is best thing to do?

I would have said that if you wrote to them asking to identify the driver, as the registered keeper wasn't driving, its upto them to make sure they know who was driving it. But I'm just guessing...0
