Clydesdale 40 day cash ISA

Arrived home to an interesting letter from Clydesdale Bank regarding their 40 day cash ISA account. This is being closed and they are transferring all accounts to there instant access cash ISA. They were currently paying 1.25% and from the 6th March this drops to 0.50%.

Time to find a new home for my money.

same here! The only advantage I can see is that it will become a flexible ISA where your money can be withdrawn and replaced without losing its tax-free status.

I have the Yorkshire versionand the same applies.

That's quite a big drop from the 1.75% available above £30k in November - when they dropped it to 1.25%.

There is more info on their website

Seems you can have immediate access to your funds now without giving 40 days notice (i.e. no loss of interest) until it becomes instant access anyway on 6 March.

Does it need to be a cash ISA? If you have no immediate need for the money then at least part could be moved to a S&S ISA

Time to dump,,got my notice this morning,,,any suggestions? I am NOT taking this big hit..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Virgin Money's Defined Access E-ISA @ 0.95% seems to be the best, as pitiful as that rate might be.

Humm. A great shame. I was just thinking of topping it up too :(

Better have a look at a list of ISA providers.

As per my previous post you might want to look at other options, depends if you want maximum income or long term investment
