That would be a gift from Terry Leahy, not you!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
it will come as a tesco voucher to be redeemed. If you do an activity that requires the tesco voucher to be then sent off they will never know. The virgin balloon trip for example requires you to send off the vouchers when you book the trip.0

I am also interested to hear any answers on this one (apart from those from Withabix...!;)) as I am considering trying to order a magazine subscription as a Christmas gift, but am not sure how easy it would be to co-ordinate start dates/gift subscription details, etc...?

Would love to hear any positive experiences from folks who have managed this successfully...:D

I have just received the Virgin balloon flight vouchers. Theres no mention of tesco. When you by deals you order the tokens then "pay" with those so no one should know. If Im not sure of a deal I ring the company ie virgin up and ask how they deal with tesco vouchers.
Also I dont class it as free as such because the two tokens cost £570 in vouchers which I could have used in Tescos to get £142.50 worth of groceries. I think they are a great way to save money.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
I do too...and have used them several times as gifts.
I use the days out vouchers (eventhough they realise they are from tesco with this one) and made up a mini hamper for legoland and added a couple of lego packs too with a poem in a card. You could do this with any of the days out vouchers..i.e. zoo trip, colouring book, crayons, animal glove puppet, jigsaw etc.
Last year I gave my sons and oh a ferrari drive someone on this site made up a great poem to go with it and I typed it up and put in the card. I didnt actually give them the vouchers but booked using them at a later date. Perhaps you could do that?
This year my daughters are receiving the indoor sky diving at milton keynes and I'll be doing the same.
I personally think its a great gift to give and if anyone gave me one I'd love it

Exactly, christmas isn't about showing how much you've spent. I'd be even more thrilled if someone had given me a thoughtful gift which didn't cost them anything.:A

I got a magazine subscription for a realtive last year. Basically what came back was a voucher to send off to the magazine subscription people with a form to fill in about the recipiant, when you want it to start etc. I stapled the voucher and form and wrapped it up with the xmas edition of the magazine i had ordered the voucher for then my relative filled form in as to when they wanted it starting etc and sent it off.
I also got the blockbuster vouchers for another relative. These come back as 12 individual vouchers for free rental, and these do mention tesco on them. I put these into a dvd box, and made a little hamper with 2 mini bottles of wine, a box of microwave popcorn and some sweets.
Both knew that the presents came from tesco and it didnt matter to them one bit. The blockbuster vouchers do only have 6 months life from the time you order so make sure you order them as late as possible before xmas!!0 -

try looking at it another way - good value for money oh and good sense. I've got £50 cc vouchers that i'm going to exchange for goldsmiths tokens - worth £200. surely it better to buy/receive £200 of goldsmiths jewellery than using the £50 i would have saved off my shopping to buy £50 worth of jewellery from argos. the gifts received are better quality, seem expensive when its only really cost you a fraction of the real price. whats the point of paying in full when you don't have to.0 -
i did the mag subscription last year as a gift.
i bought the xmas edition of the mag and made a homemade voucher to say that this mag will be delivered every month for a year.
i then filled in the form i got from tesco and put my relatives address on for delivery. i didn't send this off till near xmas to be sure that the first delivered mag was the january edition.
have also given an experience day as a gift. again i made a homemade voucher to begin with then arranges with my dad when he wanted to go and i booked it.0
