thinking of giving a tesco club card deal as a gift

To the OP:
My sense of humour obviously isn't in tune with yours!
Personally I would TELL the recipient that the gift was a result of your cunning accumulation of Clubcard points, rather than try and hide the fact.
Similarly, I have no qualms in telling relatives in Vancouver that we are visiting them next year courtesy of Tesco, who will have paid for more than £2000 of return flights.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I gave the magazine subscriptions last year and they have been a HUGE success with them enjoying them all year. I am going to do a repeat this year.
I asked the magazine co to send me a card from them and then I filled it out and enclosed it with the persons Christmas card. The magazine started in Jan and they never knew it was paid with the Tesco clubcard vouchersTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Great thread, i was hoping to do some mag subscriptions too this year for christmas, and was wondering how to go about it. Sounds like you have all answered my questions!!
thanks, and i am sure my family will be grateful for any present, as they unlike some contributor who shall remain nameless, are appreciative of the gesture rather than the price. (christmas is not about materialism)Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
I am also interested to hear any answers on this one (apart from those from Withabix...!;)) as I am considering trying to order a magazine subscription as a Christmas gift, but am not sure how easy it would be to co-ordinate start dates/gift subscription details, etc...?

Would love to hear any positive experiences from folks who have managed this successfully...:D

I have just ordered a mag subscription for my OH, I ordered it 1 week after the August CC statement came through, Tesco then sent a voucher and a form to fill in and then you have to send it to the magazine company. 2 weeks later the magazine subscription have written checking the correct details and the first magazine will be delivered in December.
If you want to give them as a Xmas pressie maybe now would be a good time to do it as you might be lucky and get them close to Xmas.

Plus you save a bargain, the subscription would usually cost approx £60 but only cost £10 in CCV.0 -
dont forget quidco if you can do it online??

I have ordered a subscription for my dad this year (top gear) with my cc vouchers, it cost me £11 in vouchers (which I could have used on my shopping) or it would have been £44 in deals/holiday for me, so not a cheapskate option, just a 'good pressie mad more reasonable' in my book...
I would love the receive a mag subscriptions which lasts a year from someone and would not be bothered in the slightest how they paid for it....it's the thought that counts

In the past I got my OH and my mum mag subscriptions thye both knew it was from Tesco's and are glad that I did it that way rather than actually 'spend' money on the subscription. Am doing the same for my MIL for xmas although she wont know how I paid for it I will just order to start say Jan and for xmas just give her a nice card with what her gift is, personally I think its a nice touch. I also get restaurant vouchers which are great, as we can afford to eat out a lot more often and we only have to pay for drinks.
For my bday in dec we are taking some friends out to celebrate and will pay with the vouchers and noone will batter an eyelid as we are all moneysavers
