Vent Intu Gift card

We were given an Intu gift card for Christmas, this is issued by the Customer services at Newcastle Eldon Square shopping mall, and can be used at most shops in the complex.

Used the card to purchase items from John Lewis but unfortunately they had to be returned( colour did not match). On returning them I was told I would have to accept a J L gift card as there was no system to reinstate the money back to the original gift card.

Ok whilst I realise I have the money back, I am disadvantaged in that I can only now use the gift card in JL and not the other shops in the mall as I could with the original gift card.

It is the first Intu gift card that I have had so was not aware of their T & Cs but just to let anyone thinking of buying an Intu card as a present it can cause problems.:eek:
