These things seem to be popping up everywhere. Was thinking of going into my Barclays tomorrow. I don't think i have a choice to see a person now.
Has anyone used one and what are your thoughts? How do you log in and out of these machines?

There should be someone around to help you.
If not insist on using a till for a cash/cheque transaction or an enquiries person for anything else.
You do have a choice of who you bank with and the method of banking if your request is a reasonable one.
Does your local Barclays branch open 5 days a week now - ours is closed on a Wednesday around here.0 -
It's really very simple.
Do you have a card and know the PIN? Insert the card and enter the PIN. You're now logged in until the session ends. If you don't have a card or PIN you'll be restricted to pretty much just deposits.
There'll then be a menu with several tiles onscreen giving you various options. The most common functions like withdrawing money, depositing money, checking balance and printing statements are all there. You can also deposit cheques, move money between your accounts, pay bills using a giro slip, and make payments to other banks. The exact functions will depend on your account and what hardware the bank has.
When you're done simply use the onscreen prompt to indicate you're finished, or use the manual "return card" button.
In most Self Service branches there's usually a member of staff attending the machines so don't be afraid to call somebody over and ask for a demonstration. It's quite a straightforward and user-friendly system and you may find you start to prefer it to queuing for a cashier.: )0 -
