I'm still up sea hon. I've just inherited a 17 year old who hasn't bathed in a week and looks like he was born in a hedge!
My son's friend who has left home in a blaze of glory, only to find his way hungry and sheepish looking to my doorstep.
I'll say it again KIDS!:A

Can I demand a refund if it inside 1 year?????
You can under their guarantee - but not under the Sale of Goods Act. Since you've allowed them to repair it, you've under law "accepted" it. You can't then reject it under your statutory rights.
If you're going to do that in future, add the rider "provided it doesn't prejudice my right to reject the item under the Sale of Goods Act". Especially needed for cars which are a great deal more expensive."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

This one keeps scratching his head? would it be socially acceptable to fill the bath with sheep dip and dunk him first thing?
He's eaten the fridge... oooh I remember those rebellious teenage years when we all left home to prove we were adult enough to stand on our own two feet, then went right round to your mates house to check what's in their fridge.:A
