Please advise me guys
I bought a coat from a famous uk brand on 22nd december. Returned it due to a faulty button on 2nd Jan with no problem. The store took the coat, scanned receipt and told me to wait 3 days for money to credit my debit card.
I checked my statement last night and noticed i had been charged the same amount again instead of a refund. Orignal amount was 159.99. So thats £318 gone out of my account and no coat!
What are my rights now? I wasnt given a receipt when i returned the item but do have a copy of the original receipt and hopefully the cctv cameras in store will see me walking in and handing back a coat and walking out empty handent
Can anyone advise me on what the likely outcome of this will be?

The likely outcome is that you inform the store of the mistake, they out through either one refund for the whole amount or two for the individual amounts to put you back in the position you were before you bought, and if you've very lucky you might get a few quid as a goodwill gesture. It's a mistake not a conspiracy.0

Did you put your card into the machine when they did the refund?
Did you enter your PIN for it?0
