Hi
I contributed 7k on a property... It was meant to be a joint property interest...called constructive trust.
Basically I want to reclaim my money the property has doubled in value was 125 now 250.

I didn't pay the mortgage but the X lived free at mine, while 'we'were buying the house...

How much can I ask for now?

Based on that info and equitable shares around £14k as the starting number.

adjusted for share of costs and any improvement work with no contribution from you.

    Is this a joke?

    a) not enough info to reply

    b) surely you refer back to the agreement made at the time of the purchase?

    God, is that an order?

You haven't even put any effort into giving us the info! Maybe you should go and work it out yourself?

    Google tells me:
A constructive trust is an equitable remedy resembling a trust (implied trust) imposed by a court to benefit a party that has been wrongfully deprived of its rights due to either a person obtaining or holding a legal property right which they should not possess due to unjust enrichment or interference.

So this seems to be key. E.g. if a court decided that you should own half the property then you are obviously entitled to half of its value.

You should consult your solicitor instead of posting such nebulous post on a generalist forum.
