  • From Edinburgh, with Easyjet - MADRID.
2nd choice BARCELONA with flyGlobespan or Clickair
3rd choice PARIS with easyjet or flyBe

All 3 are magnificent cities to visit, (as is Edinburgh BTW).

MADRID shades it for me, its really good value on the ground.
  • Easy Jet have a special offer on at the moment. I don't think you can beat Venice for a romantic city break. Paris is busy right now due to the rugby and difficult to get hotel rooms.

What about Prague? or Istanbul? both v different - and cheap cost of living.

If you are nervous about Europe, then Jersey is lovely for a weekend.
  • looking at the 50 quid off offer on easyjet..can anyone recomend a hotel in prague?

    Prague .............

I stayed here last December .It was clean and convenient (within walking distance of both ) for Old Town and New town , breakfasts good , pleasant , helpful staff ... and I notice that they have a 'Romantic Break Offer ' (for 3 nights )

Prague is a beautiful city !
Without the rain you wouldn't have the rainbows !

I came into this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left!

I havent been to many cities in Europe, but for a winter break you cant beat Stockholm. It isnt the cheapest tho once you are there, but I wonder if you cvan get ryanairs over there from where you are?

when I was there it wa slovely & snowy, just like being in a Xmas card. the swedish are great fun too, much freindlier than I expected! Very romantic destination just scrummy place!

Ive also been to Madrid which I liked a lot too, but Stockholm really captured me its lovely.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I have just been to Venice which was lovely but we found it expensive. Others have recommended Prage and Budapest and I'd second them. We went to Budapest a few years ago for OH's 30th - it's a beautiful city and the Fisherman's bastion is the most romantic place when lit at night. We also had one of the best Indian curries ever!

We went to Poland last year for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it! We went to some of the bigger cities and all were beautiful. You can rent apartments for less than you would normally pay for a hotel room so that suited us as we preferred the flexibility. Google something like old town appartment name of city. Eating is cheap. So if you're on a budget it's a great place.

    What about Amsterdam?

I use trip advisor before booking a hotel to get reviews and see pictures.

Have a great holiday and happy anniversary!! :D
