    the gyproc easifill is a good product and is made for this! I did about 100m2 this way, sanded down all the lumps/bumps and filled with easyfill, sanded again / painted and it's as smooth as freshly plastered.

    However... you can learn to plaster yourself.. from my experience it takes about the same time to just plaster everytihng than do it with the easyfill.
