Debt Recovery letter - help

I (foolishly?) ignored a Parking Charge Notice from Euro Car Parks for £70. With hindsight, I should have appealed as per Martin's advise. Not only was signage very poorly lit on a dark winter evening, the charge of £70 is disproportionate to the overstay of 20 minutes. Notwithstanding this, I have now received communication from a Debt Recovery agency demanding £130. I have received no notice or warning that the amount would increase.
What should I do?
(P.S. before anyone gets annoyed, I have read previous posts and threads but they all appear to be "old" advice (i.e. 2014))
Many thanks

You shouldn't have ignored this, but at least you didn't use the awful "official" MSE template that tells you to give away the driver's details. Complaints have been made about this but continue to be ignored.
Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES. This explains why it is safe to ignore debt collectors. There is nothing stopping you from making a late appeal to the parking scammers using the template in the NEWBIES thread, although no doubt it will be rejected.
The NEWBIES thread is up to date.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
