Eating at Manchester airport

Yes I know it's much cheaper to take your own, which we have always done previously. However, how expensive is it to eat at Manchester airport terminal 2. I've only ever bought drinks before and have made my own sarnies. How much would a breakfast be and how much do you get. My husabnd is quite fond of the full english so is it possible to sort him out without breaking the bank?

Thanks in advance for any help

Spooky, I was about to start a thread with the exact same question:)

We fly out from Manc. airport on Friday. Actually arriving at the airport around 7am, I don't think I could handle a butty at that time of the morning!:)

The Boots Meal Deal is a great option when they have it in stock, but be warned - the last 2 times I've been to Manchester Airport the Boots was completely out of stock of all sandwiches; the first occasion was around 4pm, the other occasion around 3pm.

They seem to operate the same stock policy as their high street stores, i.e. fill up the shelves in the morning with enough sandwiches to last til lunchtime. They don't seem to have cottoned on to the fact it's an airport and therefore people will be requiring food 24 hours a day.

I was going to say Boots Meal Deal, but again, be warned - they won't have any sandwiches (except egg and cress) until about 10.00am either, from past experience on several occasions!

Last time I went to manchester airport ( which was about a year ago) a breakfast was 6.99

DONT even consider buying a breakfast in BOURNEMOUTH AIRPORT! I actually took mine back. One slice of cheap thin bacon one scoop cold beans, one round toast, one fried egg. 4.99 what a fing joke.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I wouldn't bother as I watched a documentary about airport food and stomach bugs, Manchester was said to be the worst food - unfit for human consumption  Maybe they cleaned up their act once televised
  • Just flew out terminal 2 a couple weeks ago. full traditional ( 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 sausage, hash brown and beans) £4.99. Full english is £6.99 but you get a bit more bacon, sausage, extra egg... Toast is £0.99 with breakfast and tea is £ 1.50 with free refills.
  • stop off somewhere on the way. I never usually bother about what i pay but Manchester airport pulled my pants down. Roast chicken and chips with a large cappuchino? cappachino? cappochino? coffee came to a tenner.
  • As a regular traveller out of Manchester Airport, generally terminal 1, i'd like to advise you to avoid their hot food altogether. We had a hot breakfast earlier this year and cost about £8 without coffee. By the time someone turned up to man the tills, my brekkie had gone cold ( I would normally complain and have something done about ti, but it was 6.10am and I was too tired to be bothered ) and once I had sat down to tuck in, it was disgusting. The Black Pudding was like cardboard..the best bit was the baked beans albeit cold and even they weren't a brand I recognise...so to re-cap..totally disgusting and not worth even one pound...good luck though!!
  • Thanks for all the advice. Looks like I'll be making sarnies then. I assume it's ok to take these through security and my egg mayo won't be classed as a suspicious liquid?
