Hituf cable for external lights

we've been advised to buy some hituf cable for 4 external lights we want putting to our fence posts, does this sound right? Or would we need to use SWA cable?

A friend is doing the work but we wanted to check if hituf is OK to use?

It would depend on the specifics of the installation e.g surface, buried etc Hituf is expensive most electricians would use swa

Hi-Tuff isn't that expensive here as it is used a reasonable amount round these parts. That said I already told the OP on another forum that it would very much depend on whether it is to be buried or not - which I understood from the other forum that it isn't to be.

It Great stuff would go with this, much easier to work with. Is your friend part P registered as this type of work would need certificating.

Missed the bit about the friend doing the work. I think if he is unsure about the suitability of Hi-Tuff then he is unlikely to be competent to carry out the work.
