Any camera will do. My ten year old camera turns out pictures as good as any new camera.

It's the person behind the viewfinder thst makes the picture not the camera

    Enjoy your trip, cheers fj

Not quite true, but yes the persons knowledge of their camera and skills is very important check out the cheap camera and professional photographer videos on https://tv.digitalrev.com/v/9VS3C183G8g/PL7ECB90D96DF59DE5

The two replies telling me how things have moved on in ten years is true. I know that, but the point I didn't get across was that most pictures will be viewed on an iPad or pc a couple of times. A few may be printed, probably postcard size and that will be that.

You just don't need gigapixel sized digital images

    That's the first point.

The second point is that I get far more satisfaction getting great photos from a basic old camera, rather than letting the camera do all that work. In fact I would bet most people just set their all singing all dancing camera to automatic and that's it.

I bet none of these people know a thing about ISO, white balance, f stops, depth of field and so on,so automatic mode will do.

    Cheers fj

You can of course also add depth of field in your photo editer - which can be fun .
