    Hi Naomin,
Been having a read of your diary - started at the beginning then nipped to the end and working backwards.
Re your £2 coins stash forget the cash counter it will charge you. Either use a local post office or a small business that uses cash - it will save them being charged for cash. We do this periodically when we empty the change tin.
RE Virg*n CC I found them more amenable when sending small payments not like barclays having to keep an eye on minimum payments as they ended up taking it off the minimum payment. The way round that is the fixed payment DD to be set up.
I haven't found the post where you have given up on your coffee saga, we saved up from the tin and ended up with a tidy sum thanks to covid and last xmas treat us to a decent coffee machine.
    Stay safe

@2Scratters thanks for joining me. I took the £2 coins to the bank as they have a machine there. Pour the coins in and they spin around like a lotto machine and no charges. Only one returned as a dud. 👍

A heads up, haven't given up coffee and Tassimo machine has very much earned it's worth.

Today was 12's birthday.  I'm knackered after a day of wandering round a theme park. MrM has taken her to his football club this evening as the players have got her a cake 💙 I've bought myself some radox bath soak and about to jump in the bath with a couple of tea.

@lucielle I like the idea of a bath more than the actual bath. I get bored, the water gets too cold too quickly 😂

Today I have been cleaning my home, not affectionately known as the hovel 😂 downstairs is definitely a lot better than it was.

Just went into 12yo's room armed with a bin liner. There were some fruit flies in her room that I thought may have come from the hamster that needs cleaning...I was wrong. I think it was from the empty smoothie bottle and black banana I found under a pile of clothes.  She's a dirty moo. Bin liner completely filled and she can do the rest.

Tomorrow I'm tackling the rest of upstairs including the odd sock mountain and going to try and do a tip run.

    that really made me chuckle!

Naomim Yep, guessing all things fruity and rotting would indeed explain the fruit flies - at least you found the culprit though…and what she’d left there to cause the problem! 😆

When I was younger, I could sit in a bath for hours, just topping up the hot. Now I can't be bothered 😂

I'm still working on my budget and about to fresh start YNAB (again!) to start November fresh. I  really need to get going.

It looks like I'll be back in the office 3 days a week from January.  MrM is already on a 2 days in 2 days wfh rota so if I can work my days round his, then it will work out cheaper to buy a monthly travelcard on the oyster and share it. It costs us £12.70 a day each to commute, average 22 working days is £279.40 but the travelcard is currently £243.10 so a saving of £36.30 a month £435 a year.  It would also mean one of us was always home for 12yo when she finishes school.

Off work again Thurs & Friday this week but no plans as of yet.

Just be a little cautious with that strategy - technically travelcards are "one user only" and TfL have taken action against people they've seen as "using someone elses travelcard" in the past. In these days of everywhere being covered by CCTV, and Oyster cards making travel patterns very transparent, it's an easy win for them.
