BT line rental saver.

I received an email from BT to say my line rental saver as going to run out on 27th November 2016. Using the link in the email I renewed it.
But instead of running from the day it ran out, it began on the day I renewed it, which was 10th November 2016.
I contacted BT using the " chat " option and was told that when you renewed your line rental saver it starts on the day you renewed it and that I should have renewed it in the day it ran out. The email said nothing about when I should renew it.
BT will be benefitting from 17 days of my over payment and when I go to renew I will lose the 17 days I should have had, and BT will once again benefit from me having to renew it 17 days early.
I am sure I am not the only person to have this happen to. While 17 days is not a lot in terms of money, if it happens to all the other people using the line saver rental option then BT is making a big profit from this.

It wouldn't happen a 2nd time to you though as you've now learned the hard way, were there any T&C's attached to the offer?0 -
I'm sure this isn't the first time I have heard this0

As i understand the advance line rental from my BT account .
You have xx number of days in advance to renew and that renewal carries forward from expiry of existing ALR . At least that's how it worked for me in 2016 .I was able to renew ALR and beat the new price increase .
OP should post on the BT community forum .0 -
What is the best way to complain please, as I got no where today0

As already suggested your best option would be to log onto the BT Community Forum, and post there, TBH , I doubt your LRS will have started 'early', the info on the website states they inform you a month before the current LRS expires, and if you renew, it's from the anniversary of the expiry ,not the date you 'renew', I would imagine the person you spoke to got it wrong (providing you did follow the instructions on the renewal email, or called the number they quote) obviously if you didn't follow the instruction correctly, and just landed on the site and clicked away on LRS it may have entered you as a new customer rather than a renewal, if that's the case I recon you should get a refund of the overlap days,..the community mods can put you in touch with a BT Rep, who seem to know what they are doing
