Tesco Direct Debit

Options
Hi, I have just opened a BOS current account and was hoping to set up two Direct Debits via my Tesco account. Having logged in to my Tesco account there is no facility to *Move money in* only to move money out. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to, as I had read on this forum that you could set up Direct Debits from my Tesco account. Thanks in advance for any help

You need Tesco saving accounts for DDs.

To clarify: for two DDs you need two saving accounts.

To clarify further, he means two different types of saving accounts (presumably you are aware you can have two identical Tesco current accounts in sole name). On this board we are trying to avoid Tesco putting a stop to all these trivial DDs that they have to administer, and having two coming in from the same account may put some sort of a marker on you should they decide to run a program to identify unprofitable customers. So please do what I do, i.e. spend a couple of minutes each month doing a manual DD to Paypal instead of a second Tesco one.

Once again Kernel Sanders thank you for your advice. Yes I do have two Tesco current accounts, Can you advise me how I go about setting up Direct Debits to Paypal. Do I do this from my Tesco account or my Paypal account. For the record I will retire in a few weeks, so just want the best for my savings. Thank you once again

Why would Tesco be involved in a DD from BoS to PP? From Paypal, you just click on 'add money'. You then need to register your BoS Account there and PP will instantly send 1p to it which will show on your BoS online statement along with a 4-figure code, which you input in the box they provide. So, within minutes you are able to arrange the DD. But remember, allow ten working days and be aware that PP sometimes ration DDs to one per day (often none per day).

I use one savings account for 2 DD's for each of my current accounts requiring them (10 so far)

 Pulled six this morning in the space of three minutes.

I'm trying to prevent the OP from setting up two Tesco DDs that look (to the bank sending them) like identical destinations, so don't you think it would be more constructive to reveal how to differentiate between them?

I also succeeded in pulling multiple DDs that day (for the first time ever), so I've amended the post. I did miss one, which I've tried to arrange on 5 different days out of the last 7 but all have failed.
