Day trip from Lancashire to London.How cheap can we do it?

A few of us `ladies` want to go and see the Terracotta Army in London , ideally a day trip because of our jobs etc.We`re thinking of train but is there any other good deals for us that anyone knows about?

For the train, you ideally need to book well in advance and get cheap singles in each direction. The later you leave it the higher the cost.
Other wise look at Megabus and National Express - a lot slower, but cheaper. Again booking in advance can get cheaper fares, but usually the diference isn't so marked.0
