Boiler firing up every 10 seconds... Cost??
Any ideas if this is ridiculously expensive!? Boiler needs fixing and I won't go into it too much but I am having major issues with Plumbcare who came out under my Halifax home emergency cover.
They won't be fixing boiler until at least Monday /Tuesday but in meantime they said its ok to switch heating on when needed as it won't damage the boiler any any further.
I'm slightly concerned about the cost of this!! The boiler, when switched on fires up, turns off and fires up again after 10 seconds!! It warms the radiators to a ridiculously hot point which worries me too as I have a child in the house.
Thanks in advance... Oh and I am raising a complaint against plumbcare the with the halifax home emergency team. They have been utterly useless!

I love a bargain and saving money! I don't have any debts and mortgage repaid in 2020

Have you not got Thermostatic Radiator Valves(TRVs) on your radiators?
It won't stop them initially getting very hot, even if they are turned down, but they won't stay hot once your room is warm enough.
I suggest, until the boiler is repaired, you switch it on and off as required - over a few days it is not going to cost a lot more.0
