Complaint about five star hotel in Gran canaria.

recently stayed Radisson Blu hotel and received anything but five star service and food.(the hotel facilities were good though). I did complain at the time but only when I return ed home did I realise that they have a one hundred per cent satisfaction policy. Have been offered 20% reduction in hotel bill but do not think realistically reflects my dissatisfaction (which they have acknowledged). There are lots of similar complaints in the two weeks it's been open on tripadvisor so I am not alone, Is there anywhere else I can take my complaint other than directly to he hotel manager. Thanks for any advice.

  • Start with the hotel manager and go up the chain if you're not happy from there. I'd write a letter (yes, an actual physical letter). Describe the problems you had, what you're expecting in return, and give them a deadline by which to respond. Be reasonable, stick to the facts and don't threaten bad reviews on TripAdvisor etc. Good luck!

How much did you ask for in your complaint?

Didn't actually ask for anything in first email but asked him to reconsider his offer as did not receive 80% value for money and maybe fifty per cent was more realistic. The hotel and facilities were good but felt cleanliness of the communal areas and toilets around the pool, food, replenishments of any toiletries, coffee tea in rooms and service were non existent. Maybe asked for too much but did feel cheated!

My email did stick to the facts and I did complement on the bits I thought were good.
