iD Mobile delinquent account on Experian

My credit score has just dropped by 500 points to very poor as Experian show a delinquent (more than 4 months old) account with iD Mobile the telecom provider for £27 !!!
This account was passed by iD Mobile to debt collectors and I disputed the account as (a) I had never activated the Sim as it didn't work where we live and (b) I was paid up to date for the 2 months I had the Sim which was on a 1 month agreement.
I have never had a request for payment from iD Mobile only the debt collectors and have had no communication from them. I have always set out the facts to the debt collectors and asked them to get iD Mobile to contact me if they believed they was anything outstanding. Nothing has been received.
For the princely sum of £27 this seems to have totally trashed my credit score :-o
I have complained to Experian but is there anything else I should do

Its trashed a score that only you can see, the most important thing is to get the default removed.
Your history is what lenders etc can see.0 -
Hi there,
Although your score is irrelevant to future lenders, I can understand the concern of finding the outstanding debt. With regard to the debt you have several choices.
You can complain to the debt collector in writing (as they are now in control of the debt) and explain why you don't believe the debt is correct and ask them to explain why the debt even exists. Please be aware that some 1 month rolling contracts can have a 30day notice period, so if that is the case, and the notice wasn't given then this could incur a penalty.
Once the debt collector has offered an explanation for the debt you can choose to further dispute the matter with Telecommunications Ombudsman or (if you believe the justification for the debt) make an arrangement to clear it. If you further dispute it and are successful the default should be removed from your file. However, please bear in mind that if you pay it you are accepting liability for the debt and the default cannot be removed but a paid default is better than an outstanding one.

Thank you for your help. I am pleased to say that in the end iD Mobile accepted my explanation and the default has been removed :-)0

My husband also had an issue with iD mobile incorrectly stating debt on his account. He was with them for a month but the signal wasn't great so he cancelled and was paid up for whatever time he had to. They settled the account and told him his account was no more. A few months down the line he noticed his credit report stated he was in default with them and then received a letter from iD mobile stating he owed them £50 of unpaid bills and they would be passing it to a debt collection agency. He had to email them and explain the situation and forward emails from them stating his account was closed.
I have also read of similar stories, so I think they need to sort out this issue!0
