Hi! We are buying g our 1st home and wondered if somebody could answer a few questions please??
Homebuyers report has been done...Valued it more then what we have offered but does the report go to the mortgage company?? Or is it just for us??
Got a message from our solicitor today to say they have received a draft copy of the sellers contract...Is this good??
How long does it take to verify the wage slips? Please note we bank with Nationwide who we are taking our mortgage out with....
Also (last one promise) anything we need to look out for and when to chase people!!!
Many thanks Dawn:j:T

Goes to you. Your conveyancer may request to see it to ensure no conditions are in place.

It means they can start moving along however until it's signed, there's no reason as to why either yourselves or the vendor couldn't legally withdraw from the sale/purchase.

Ask Nationwide........it isn't just wage slips they will look at.

Let it take its course. Chase once chasing is required otherwise you will get stressed.
Perhaps read around this forum as the majority of your questions will have come up before.0 -
You are going to have 100s more questions as time goes by.Dawnue1985 wrote: »Homebuyers report has been done...Valued it more then what we have offered but does the report go to the mortgage company?? Or is it just for us??
Who instructed the survey? Was it an add-on to the mortgage lender's Valuation? If so, they may well see it.
If you instructed the survey privately, then it is yours and yours alone.

It is step 3 in a 56-step-process. Good? Well, better than no contract yet!

I recommend you get a book (they're free at the library!) on house-buying.

My full mortgage application with Nationwide went in on Saturday and I got a decision today. They said allow 10 working days. I hope that's the same for you.0

As a first time buyer too...I would say don't chase anything....let it run its course.
If anything, I am finding I am the one in control of the vendor in terms of when I want to complete and when I want to exchange, they are the ones who are hurrying things along, maybe because I am in no rush. All will be this month hopefully....0 -
We got our full mortgage offer today!! spoke to our solicitor and she said it's going to be about 6 weeks if not sooner!! They said we can have it completed as fast as we want all ours do is conveyancing so she's told me it will be done soon!
It's going to smoothy at the moment it's scary!!
Thanks everyone!0
