    Thanks for your reply.

I wasn't there at the time, but he claimed to have searched on the registration number and not her pers!.

He may have printed it off online. But he knew exactly the monthly repayment and. It was an 18 month old car. There wouldn't have been another car like it, and so the deal would have been unique to her.

Incidentally, her brother also works for her father.

Sounds more like he accessed it from the dealership then. They probably take DP very seriously as well.
  • I've just found out the print off had adds' at the top of it, so I'm thinking Internet source?
  • sorry about the nonconstructive post but the guy sounds like a physco, whatever he has done to obtain this information has been unlawfully.

If it was taken online and details were recorded in her email account then potentially he has guessed/hacked the credentials.

The guy is a fraud and had no right to retrieve such information.

Are you sure it's not just the printout from the website where she bought the car from?. I've seen many dealerships that give an example of the finance package for each car and what the monthly payment would be.

So it's not exactly secret information if she walked into the dealership and took out the finance package offered on the website.

Using an internet archive service it's very easy to look at a Webpage at a date in the past. Or more likely the dealer also posted on Autotrader which can be searched to find the cars advert.

My guess is he accessed her emails or stored documents via the PC at work. Do they share a PC or could she have walked away from her pc for a while leaving it unlocked and he quickly jumped on and had a nose about her stuff?
Why would he do it anyway is more worrying. What strange and immature behavior.

Interesting question. I asked her similar as I mooted the possibility of there being a keystroke logger on the works pc. But she tells me she has never trusted it. Never opened any emails from it and only uses her own phone and iPad for this.

Nor did she take the obvious deal with the pcp and no one knew what her deposit was.
This wasn't a guess, it was a print out which showed monthly payments to the exact £

Chances are he guessed her email password. if she has a new car she's proud of there is a good chance its the registration number. Otherwise its her boyfriends first name and DOB or 123456 yada yada.
  • If you subscribe to a CRA (I only use free ones) -in my case Noddle - it stated date loan was taken out, the total amount of loan and monthly repayment and outstanding balance.

So my guess is that he hacked her computer or used her sign in credentials and got the information this way - it might explain the ads on the page.
